Carla J. Vitale, RN
Carla Jaynie Wickstrom Vitale, originally from Beverly, Massachusetts, lived a life marked by her unwavering commitment to family, friends, and her work. A registered Nurse for over 40 years, Carla dedicated herself to caring for others through her role at Homecare Companions, where she remained actively involved until her passing on July 22, 2024. Loved by clients and caregivers alike, Carla was pivotal to the culture of the company, where her warmth and compassion earned her the cherished role of “Mom” to many.
After raising her three children in Boxford, Massachusetts, Carla relocated to Daphne, Alabama, two decades ago to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She embraced Alabama life with her partner, Pete, enjoying beach walks on Dauphin Island, cultivating her garden, sharing her passion for classical music, and gathering countless recipes for family meals. Known as a dedicated Red Sox and Tom Brady fan, she discovered a love for football later in life, enjoying games with Pete. Carla’s love, kindness, and boundless care for others will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Carla’s legacy of compassion and dedication to caregiving lives on through her daughter, Kristi, who has taken over Homecare Companions in her honor. Kristi dedicated the company not only to her mother but also to her late brother, making their family’s values a guiding force behind the care they provide. Under Kristi’s leadership, Carla’s spirit of kindness and selflessness continues to inspire the way Homecare Companions serves its clients, embodying the same warmth and devotion Carla brought to her work every day.
